Swan Bros. Dairy

Swan Brothers' Dairy is a Claremore, Oklahoma based dairy operation specializing in milk and a variety of cheeses. Started in 1923 with one cow by Harley Swan, Sr., the operation was eventually assumed by Harley Swan, Jr. in 1972. In 1985, Swan Brothers' Dairy began producing cheese. Swan Brothers' Dairy does not give any hormones to increase milk production in their cows. The dairy's herd consists Holsteins, Brown Swiss, and crosses of Holsteins, Brown Swiss, and Jersey. These cows are given grain in the milking parlor, then are turned out to pasture where they receive hay and graze on pasture. If antibiotics are administered to the cows in case of sickness, withdrawal periods are strictly adhered to, thus ensuring there are never antibiotics in the dairy's products.
